That $300 edge bander from overseas was a total flop

I ordered one of those cheap portable edge banders off an auction site to handle some quick veneer jobs. First real use on 3/4 inch plywood and the glue wheel jammed inside 20 minutes, stripped the gears trying to fix it. Anyone else get burned by these budget machines and just stick to iron-on tape?
