The 12 inch miter saw on the job site made my bench saw feel like a toy
After three weeks of fighting crown molding with my 10 inch slider I borrowed my buddy's 12 inch dual bevel on Thursday and the compound cuts just fell into place, is the extra weight worth it for you guys who work alone?

Fighting crown molding" is the key word here, man. Nobody talks about how a lighter saw vibrates and walks on you when you're twisting those compound angles. The 12 inch weight might slow you down hauling it, but it plants itself on the stand so you're not re-leveling every other cut.
