TIL a customer's crooked wall cost me 3 days of building a cabinet that fit wrong
I built a full base cabinet run for a kitchen in Sacramento last month, and it wouldn't sit flush against the wall no matter how much I shimmed. Turns out the wall bowed out almost 1.25 inches over six feet, and I didn't check it before cutting anything, which was my mistake. I wasted 3 full days recutting end panels and trimming fillers instead of just scribing from the start. Everyone says trust your tape and go, but checking the wall with a straightedge first would have saved me most of a week. Does anyone here still skip the wall check on quick jobs or is it just me?
