TIL that a $50 bottle of Titebond III saved me from a total disaster
I had a client order a whole kitchen in white shaker, and I was using some cheap PVA glue I got on sale. Three weeks after install, one of the door panels started popping loose. I pulled it off and the glue joint just crumbled in my hands. Switched to Titebond III for the replacements and that was six months ago, still solid as a rock. The cheap stuff cost me a weekend of rework and a pissed off customer. Anyone else find out the hard way that certain glues just aren't worth skimping on?

Changed my mind about glue after a similar mess. Cheap stuff let go on a set of shelves I built for my sister. Won't risk it again.

Oh man, that's rough. Honestly though, cheap glue isn't always the problem, it's more about the type of glue for the job. @jamesf29 has a good point about shelf life too, but even fresh cheap stuff can be bad for weight bearing stuff. Ngl, I've had good luck with the basic Titebond for things like that, it's not fancy but it holds up.
