Cancelled my autopay and started paying with a card every month, and the surprise fees stopped
My internet bill in Tucson was hopping around by $8 to $11 every single month and I could not figure out why. Then I noticed the autopay discount was only $5 while the random "network fee" changes were bigger, so the autopay was actually costing me money. I switched to paying manually with a card on the 3rd of each month and started taking a screenshot of the bill every time. When a $7 fee showed up twice in a row I called, read them the numbers, and got $60 credited back over two calls. Anyone else find that autopay makes them careless about checking the actual charges?
