Fought with a crimp tool for 3 hours before borrowing a friends Klein - night and day difference

I was using this cheapo crimper from Home Depot on a big residential job in Tampa last week. Must have re-done half the terminations because they kept failing the pull test. My buddy stopped by and handed me his Klein crimper. First try perfect every time after that. The difference was the ratcheting mechanism honestly. My cheap one just didnt grip right. Has anyone else noticed how much the tool matters on RG6 terminations?

Is it just the ratchet, or do the jaw shapes make that big a difference too?

Nah honestly I think people overthink the jaw thing way too much. A good ratchet is a good ratchet, the shape of the jaws isn't gonna make or break your day.

Wait, you're saying a roto head with those weird angled jaws doesn't make a difference? I literally had a job last week where my regular ratchet wouldn't fit and a flank drive style saved my butt.
