I finally buried a line too shallow and paid for it big time

Was running a drop to a new shed in a backyard in Denver last fall, figured 6 inches deep was fine for the distance. Three weeks later the homeowner calls saying their internet cut out and I find the cable sliced clean through by a sprinkler line. You ever have a rookie mistake come back to haunt you like that?

Man that rough, I feel for you. Six inches is tempting when you're just trying to get it done fast but it never works out in the end. I did something similar a few years back running a temporary line for a neighbor, figured shallow was fine for a week and then someone's edger found it the next day. The worst part is you know better but you convince yourself it'll be fine and then boom, you're digging it up again in the cold. At least you got a good reminder out of it and hopefully the homeowner was understanding.

Ngl, that sprinkler line probably wasn't even marked right either.

You ever actually use the 811 service yourself?
