Overheard a guy at the supply shop say my crimping tool was the issue, not me
Stopped at the distributor on Wednesday to grab connectors and this young tech was venting about bad terminations, blaming the cable brand. A retiree next to him asked to see the tool, and he told him the die was worn down from 4 years of daily use. I checked mine after that, same model, and sure enough the compression sleeve was loose even though it looked fine. Swapped it out this morning for a new one, ran six fittings and every single one passed the pull test. Funny how a 60 dollar tool can make you doubt your own hands for months. Anyone else ever blamed a customer's setup when the real problem was sitting in your bag?
