Rant: Saw a guy in Charlotte leave a drop cable zip-tied to a downspout for a whole week
It was a 50-foot RG6 run, and he just looped it tight around the metal pipe with three zip ties. That's a sure way to get a call back when it gets yanked or the homeowner hits it with a ladder. I had to go fix it after the rain started pulling on the line. How do people not think about strain relief or just using a proper clip?

That zip tie job is asking for trouble. I always leave a service loop and use a proper clip on the downspout. A little slack saves you from that exact callback.

Actually, that's a flex connector, so it needs to be tight like that.

Totally see this everywhere. People get so focused on making something tight and secure they forget it needs to move a little.

Wait, he used three zip ties? That's even worse... like he really thought about it and still did it wrong. One is a mistake, but three means he was trying to make it permanent. You just know that downspout is gonna ice up or get hit and rip the connector right off the wall.
