Spent $45 on a Klein fish tape and it bent my first day on a job in Detroit
I figured the Klein brand would hold up great but that steel wire folded over trying to pull through a tight conduit in an old building. The house was built in 1923 and the runs were all jagged. Has anyone else had a fish tape snap on them when they least expected it?
Did you try returning it? I used to swear by Klein for all my tools, thought they were untouchable. But after my own tape folded on a rough pull in a 1940s building here in Chicago, I changed my mind pretty fast. That steel wire just doesn't hold up when you hit real tight bends with sharp edges.
