That brand new spool of RG6 that snapped inside the wall
I was running a drop in a new build over in Greenwood yesterday, pulled maybe 30 feet of fresh PPC coax and it just gave way inside the drywall. Turned out the jacket looked fine but the copper center had this tiny crack from the factory, so I had to cut out a whole section and splice it. Anyone else seen bad batches from suppliers lately or am I just unlucky?

PPC usually makes good stuff but a factory crack is still rare.

The "copper center had this tiny crack from the factory" part really got me. I used to blame bad installs or rough handling for stuff like this, but after seeing a few spools with hidden defects like that, I totally changed my tune. It's wild how the jacket can look perfect but the inside is already messed up before you even touch it. That PPC stuff is usually solid too, so it's probably just a batch issue from their plant somewhere. I'd bet you're not alone, plenty of guys are probably dealing with the same thing and just not posting about it.
