That cluttered panel behind a dentist office in Fort Worth gave me a fresh idea
Last Tuesday I was doing a rewire at a dental plaza and the old panel was such a mess, every cable tangled like spaghetti with tags falling off. Then it hit me, we spend all this time hiding our work, but maybe the pros who leave clean labels and neat bundles are actually saving their next service call an hour of headache. Has anyone here started using color coded heat shrink rings, and did it help your techs troubleshoot faster?
I picked up a tip from a guy on another forum who swears by numbered heat shrink rings for every circuit, not just the main feeds. He said it cut their average service call time by maybe 15 minutes once the techs got used to the system. That might not sound huge, but multiply it across a week of calls and it pays for the rings pretty fast. The trick is to keep a legend on the inside of the door so nobody has to guess what number 12 means later.
