Two years of same cul-de-sac, finally saw the line drop fix stick

I service this one neighborhood in Fort Worth, same 18 houses since 2023. Every visit, someone's internet drops after a rainstorm. Last month I finally found the culprit, a corroded ground block behind the third house's fence, not the tap or the drop like I kept guessing. Replaced it with a weatherproof one and sealed the connector with silicone grease. Came back this week after those big storms and zero repeat calls from that whole street. Has anyone else found that the ground block is the sneaky one on older builds?

Nodding along with this because Ive been there too many times to count. Ground blocks are the absolute worst for hiding corrosion, especially on older homes where nobody ever thought to check them. Youd think the drop or the tap would be the first thing to go, but nope, that tiny little grounding point just sits there rotting in the weather. Ive had almost the exact same situation on a street in my area, same pattern where every storm brought a new outage until I finally dug into the ground block. Silicone grease is a lifesaver too, I started doing that a couple years back and it cuts my callback rate way down. Good on you for sticking with it and solving the whole street, that must feel awesome.
