JIS screwdrivers beat Phillips for most camera work, period
Spent 3 hours fighting a stripped screw on a Canon AE-1 last month with a regular Phillips set. Swapped to a proper JIS driver from my buddy's kit and it came out in 30 seconds. Those cross heads look identical but they aren't, and the difference is night and day on tight Japanese gear. Anyone else made the switch or am I the last one on this boat?
Had a buddy strip a screw on his Pentax K1000 and he swore it was hopeless until he borrowed a JIS set, thing came loose like it was never tight. I mean, I get it now, those Japanese threads just don't play the same game as Phillips.
