Just realized how many old film cameras are still out there
I was reading a report from a camera museum in Tokyo and they said over 40 million 35mm SLRs were made in the 70s and 80s alone. That's a lot of potential repairs still walking around. Anyone else seeing a steady stream of these coming into the shop?

My uncle still shoots with his Pentax K1000 from college. Thing is built like a tank, just keeps going.

They don't make them like that for a reason.

Totally get what you're saying. My bench always has a few of those old workhorses on it, just like @davidkim's Pentax. They really don't make them like that anymore.

My grandpa's old Yashica from the 70s still clicks like new, no plastic parts to break. Funny how @martin.riley says they don't make them like that for a reason, but I'd bet that Yashica outlasts half my modern gear. It's just a solid hunk of metal that keeps going no matter what.
