I mean, "old timer taught me a trick" makes it sound like some sacred wisdom passed down from the heavens. It's a sticky shutter, not a broken furnace. Is this really that big of a deal? I've fixed sticky shutters with just some sandpaper and a little elbow grease, no secret handshake required. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people overcomplicate simple home stuff all the time.

Huh, you're not wrong @jamie_webb67, most shutter fixes are pretty straightforward. But sometimes it's less about the trick itself and more about learning it from someone who's messed it up a dozen times already, right? How often have your sandpaper fixes actually held up for more than a season?

Yeah but are you sanding with the grain or against it? Asking for a friend who now has a window that looks like a toddler went at it with a cheese grater.

lol @claire_grant34 your friend is definitely sanding against the grain. Always go with it, never fight the wood.
