Stop using compressed air on shutter curtains

Had a Nikon F2 come in last week with a shutter that looked like it got sandblasted. Previous guy tried blowing dust off the curtains with compressed air and actually tore a hole in the titanium. Use a soft brush and gentle vacuum instead. Never had this issue before I started seeing other repair guys do it. Anyone else run into this damage yet?

Light kiss and a full face punch" - yeah that's exactly it. Can't believe someone would put a compressor hose right up to a shutter like that.

The little cans actually give you way more control than people think.

Were these guys using the little cans or actual compressor rigs? Seems like the difference between a light kiss and a full face punch.
