Took me 3 days to notice the shutter button was just stuck in the case
I got this beat up Canon AE-1 for parts, thinking the shutter was totally dead. Replaced the whole magnet assembly, chased a wiring fault, even swapped the capacitors. On day 3 I popped the top plate off and noticed the shutter button was jammed sideways against the plastic shell. One tiny file and a drop of lube later it works perfect. I've been doing this for 6 years and still get fooled by the dumb stuff. Has anyone else spent way too long on a repair that ended up being something ridiculous simple?
