I finally realized after a dozen repairs that lighter fluid leaves a residue that attracts dust and makes the shutter stick worse over time, and it was a 1977 Canon F-1 that tipped me off when the blades seized up six weeks after I serviced them, so which is it, old-school solvent guys or modern contact cleaner folks?
