My $80 'ultra-light' camp table folded like a cheap lawn chair

I bought this fancy collapsible table for a trip to the Red River Gorge last fall. The ads said it could hold 50 pounds and was perfect for cooking. Well, the first time I put my two-burner stove and a pot of water on it, the whole thing just buckled in the middle. The legs bent outwards and my dinner almost went into the dirt. I felt so dumb for trusting the pictures online. Now I'm stuck with a bent piece of aluminum I can't return. Some people say these tables are fine for light snacks, but I think they're a total waste if you actually cook at camp. What's a good, solid table that won't fall apart? I don't want to make this mistake again.

Ugh, those flimsy tables are the worst. Get a roll-up table with steel legs next time.

Read a camping blog that swears by those heavy-duty plastic folding tables.

My Coleman roll-up table has lasted for years (even with a full camp stove).
