Rant: My $15 tarp stake pulled out at 2am in a windstorm near Flagstaff
Woke up half hanging out of my tent because those cheap plastic stakes bent like wet noodles in the rocky ground. I switched to 6 inch steel ones last month and they've held through two storms, but I still carry the plastic ones as backups. Anyone else ditch plastic stakes for metal after a rough night?
Plastic pegs have their place, honestly. They're easier to hammer in on hard ground and they don't rust like the metal ones. Plus, if you're just car camping for a weekend, they hold up fine.
