Shoutout to the guy at REI who talked me out of the $300 tent
I was about to buy a 4 season mountaineering tent for car camping in Ohio, and he asked where I camp. When I said Hocking Hills in July, he pointed me to a $90 Coleman and I thought he was just trying to upsell me later. Three trips in and it's been dry every time, so now I'm wondering what gear I've been overpaying for just because it looks serious.
