Swapped my Coleman stove for a Jetboil and it paid off last weekend
I was stuck deciding between my old Coleman two burner and a Jetboil for a solo trip to the Smokies last month. The Coleman is great for groups but it's heavy and takes forever to boil water. I went with the Jetboil Flash and it boiled water in under 2 minutes at a campsite near Clingmans Dome. Anyone else switched to a lighter setup and found it's worth the trade-off in space?
Funny you mention that, because it ties into something I've noticed folks doing more and more these days. People are swapping out their big, heavy items for smaller things that do one job really well, whether it's camp stoves or even their daily carry. That old Coleman has its place, sure, but for a solo trip why drag around all that extra weight and bulk? It is the same way with so many things in life, we hold onto the bigger option out of habit when a simpler, lighter choice would work just fine.
