Thought the $30 camp stove would be junk but it surprised me

Picked up a no-name butane stove for $30 on a whim before a weekend trip to Shenandoah last month, fully expecting to toss it after one use. That little thing boiled water in under 4 minutes and didn't even flinch in 20 mph wind, which my old Coleman couldn't handle. Anyone else find a cheap piece of gear that actually outperformed your expensive stuff?

Yeah and my $15 tarp from Harbor Freight kept me dry through a storm that wrecked my buddy's fancy tent.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little here lol. That cheap stove might work fine for a few trips but I've seen those things fail at the worst times when the regulator gets wonky after some use. I'd still take my old Coleman over a no-name burner any day cause at least I know it'll keep going year after year.

@gavin469 got a point too though, cheap gear can surprise you sometimes.
