Three hours to set up a tent? Yeah that was me last weekend

I swear I watched the YouTube tutorial twice before heading out, but the rainfly still had me tangled in guylines for 45 minutes. Has anyone else found a trick for getting those clips aligned without losing your mind?

My buddy Matt spent the same amount of time untangling his poles last fall. He just gave up and slept under the stars with the tent spread out like a dead animal next to him.

Heard a story about my friend Dave who got so mad at his tent poles he just chucked 'em into the woods and slept in his truck. Woke up the next morning with a raccoon nose deep in his beef jerky. Let's just say the raccoon had the better camping experience that night.

Does anyone else end up sitting in the dirt reading the instructions backwards while your partner just stands there judging? I spent a full hour last trip fighting with the rainfly clips only to find out I had the whole thing inside out. YouTube tutorials make it look so EASY but the reality is just a tangled mess of nylon and cold frustration.
