Used to haul firewood in a trash bag until a raccoon situation at Higgins Lake changed everything

For like 3 summers I just threw all my campfire wood into a black contractor bag and called it good. Then last August up at Higgins Lake I left the bag sitting next to my tent overnight. Came out at 5am to a raccoon that had chewed through the plastic and scattered logs everywhere... plus it got into my cooler. Now I use a heavy canvas tote with a zipper top cost me $30 at a hardware store. Has anyone else had a critter wreck their firewood storage setup?

Funny how a $30 fix can solve a problem that feels like it should take a smarter life hack, @ward.jamie.

Yeah 30 bucks is nothing compared to losing all your wood to a raccoon. I used to think a regular bag was fine too but after seeing this I'm definitely switching to a canvas tote.

Man, I saw this happen to my buddy Dave one time. He had a regular bag and a raccoon got into it and ruined a whole rack of cherry wood. Now he swears by canvas.
