Dropped $180 on a 'safe space' training, walked out more confused than when I came in
This was at a state school I won't name, back in October. Some outside group ran this 3 hour workshop for student org leaders. They promised tools for handling tough debates in meetings. Instead we got a 45 minute exercise where we had to sort each other into 'harm' and 'not harm' categories for hypothetical hot takes. Nobody agreed on half of them. The facilitator just smiled and said there are no wrong answers. Then they tried to sell us their $120 online course. My org lost $180 for the room rental and materials. I could've bought like six pizzas and gotten more honest discussion. Anyone else sit through these paid DEI vendor things where the advice is just 'listen harder' but with buzzwords?
