Found a loophole in my school's speech zone policy and it actually worked

Got tired of only being able to table in that tiny concrete square outside the student union, so I registered my event as a "theatrical performance" and now I can set up anywhere on campus with 24 hours notice. Has anyone else found dumb workarounds like this at your school?

My buddy Carlos tried this at State College last fall. He registered his club as a "live poetry reading" to table in the main quad. @alicemurphy, you got a point about safety but the thing is his event got approved by the admin themselves. They sent a guy out to check his setup and everything. He just put a folding table near the bike racks, totally out of the way. The real loophole is the system doesn't actually check what you're doing after they say yes.

Playing devil's advocate here, but maybe there's a reason the school limits where people can set up tables. If every club or student group just registered their event as a "theatrical performance" to get around the rules, you'd have tables blocking walkways, doorways, and fire exits all over campus. That tiny concrete square exists so groups don't interfere with normal foot traffic or create safety hazards. Last year at our school, a group set up a petition table right in front of the library entrance and it caused a real bottleneck. The policy exists for a reason, and finding loopholes just makes the administration create stricter rules later.
