Guest speaker got shouted down at our community college, and I think we lost something
Last Tuesday at City College of Chicago, a woman came to talk about media bias and she barely got through her first slide before about 30 students stood up and chanted over her for 15 minutes. Security had to walk her out, and the event ended early. I get being upset about certain viewpoints, but nobody even heard her full argument before judging it. Has anyone else seen these walkouts happen before a speaker even gets a chance to respond?
