Just saw a protest at my school get shut down because they didn't fill out a 'space reservation form' 72 hours ahead. People keep saying it's about safety, but the rule feels like it's just there to stop speech.

Found a workaround last year when our admin tried the same thing. We just moved the protest to the public sidewalk right off campus, which they can't control. Had way more people show up anyway because it was more visible. Sometimes you just gotta play their game and find the loopholes they didn't think about. The local news even came by because we were on public property.

My friend's apartment complex tried that with a maintenance request. They made her fill out three different forms just to report a leaking ceiling. She got so fed up she called the city housing inspector instead. The inspector showed up, saw the water damage, and wrote them up for code violations. They fixed it within two days after that.

Seen that before. They always hide behind paperwork.

It's not just hiding, it's a delay tactic. They know most people will give up after the third form or the second phone tree. The paperwork itself becomes the wall you can't get over. They're betting on your frustration being cheaper for them than actually fixing the problem.
