My counterprotest sign got stolen by the same guy twice

I put up a small sign outside the student union backing the speaker who got shouted down last Tuesday. Someone swiped it within an hour, so I printed another one and taped it to a pole. That same guy in the green beanie came back and ripped it off while I was standing right there eating my sandwich. He just looked at me, said "free speech, bro," and walked off with it. Has anyone else dealt with people stealing signs instead of actually debating?
