The week our campus paper got pulled over a single cartoon

Last Tuesday, our student newspaper at State U printed a political cartoon about the new library fees. By Thursday, the whole print run was pulled from stands by the dean's office. They said it 'created a hostile environment' for the administration, but the cartoonist just showed a piggy bank with a suit on. It was a quiet week on campus, but the online fight blew up with over 500 comments on the paper's site in 24 hours. The editors are now saying it's a clear free speech issue, while the dean claims it's about 'civility.' Has anyone else seen a student paper get shut down this fast over something so small?

Seems like a weird hill to die on for both sides... maybe @dylan_brown30 should save the formal complaints for something actually harmful.

File a formal complaint with the student government right now.

Formal complaints go on record forever though, might hurt you later.
