I finally learned why my aunt's joke bombing at Thanksgiving was actually on me
She told a dark cancer joke and I got all offended until my cousin pulled me aside and said 'she's literally had chemo 3 times, let her laugh.' Now I just shut up and listen before judging other people's humor. Has anyone else had that moment where you realized you were the one being too sensitive?

That's a little harsh honestly. Sometimes a joke just doesn't land the way you hoped and it stings a bit. It's not about anyone getting upset, it's more like that little whoops moment when you realize your delivery flopped. We've all been there, right? I think it's nice to cut people some slack when they're just trying to be funny. Maybe just a lighthearted "aww, better luck next time" instead of calling it dramatic.
