My 1994 comedy tape got flagged at a party and nobody laughed

Pulled out my old Andrew Dice Clay cassette at a friend's gathering last Saturday, just for nostalgia. We were talking about how edgy comedy used to be. Hit play on the car stereo and within 30 seconds this younger guy, maybe 25, just stared at me and said 'you actually listened to this?' The whole room went quiet. I felt like I was holding a live grenade. I get that times change, but it was a weird gut punch watching something that killed in my college dorm in '94 now make people look at their shoes. Is there any comedy from back then that still lands without a disclaimer? Curious if anyone else has tried sharing old bits with a younger crowd and got that same deer in headlights reaction.

Try cueing up something like Robin Williams or George Carlin instead, they had timeless riffs on human nature that still connect. People bristle at shock comedy, but observational humor from that era usually gets a pass once it's framed as a history lesson. Pick one solid bit and play it alone, maybe with a quick warning that it's a time capsule, not a current take.
