My first time roasting a friend's dark humor got applause at game night
Last week at my buddy's place, I finally told a joke about bad breakups that used to feel too edgy for me. I tested it on my sister first and she laughed so hard she snorted her drink. At the party, 8 of us were swapping sensitive material and I went for it without the usual nervous preface. The room went quiet for a second then someone yelled that's exactly what we needed. Anyone else hit a moment where a taboo topic just clicked with the right crowd?

Maybe it's just me but that's basically the dream right there. Getting that little pause and then the roar of approval is like hitting the lottery in a room full of gamblers. My crowning achievement was when I roasted a friend's dating life so hard his girlfriend high-fived me. Sometimes the dark stuff lands best when you're all already in the gutter together. Sounds like you found your tribe for sure.
