The dead grandma bit got me, I was so wrong about that comedy clip
I saw a 30 second clip from a 2019 special where a comic talks about his grandma's funeral and how the pastor mispronounced her name. I rolled my eyes and skipped it, figured it was just cheap shock stuff. Then my buddy made me watch the full set last Tuesday after we closed at the bar. The whole bit builds up for 6 minutes with specific details about the eulogy and the family's reaction, and by the punchline I was laughing so hard I spilled my drink. The context changed everything. Has anyone else dismissed a joke as offensive, then realized the full setup made it work?

Context is everything with comedy. A 30 second clip never does a bit justice. Glad it paid off, you gonna watch more of his stuff?
