Vent: My cousin made me rethink abortion jokes at dinner last night
We were at Applebee's in Denver and my cousin Sarah brought up the old joke about coat hangers. She's 22 and said it's not funny anymore because her friend actually had to travel 200 miles to get care. Hit different hearing it from someone who knows the reality. Has anyone else had a younger relative call them out on stuff you grew up joking about?

Hit different" is the whole point, we're all realizing some jokes aged like milk left in a hot car.

That comment from evan_cooper73 about jokes aging like milk in a hot car is spot on. My younger sister called me out last year for laughing at a dumb blonde joke my uncle made. She told me her friend got bullied for being seen as dumb and it really messed with her head. I just listened and said sorry, then told her I'd try to do better. It's uncomfortable but honestly it made me think more before I laugh at stuff now.
