Last week at the office, I tried one of those dark humor jokes about airline peanuts that my uncle shared at Thanksgiving. Big mistake. Three people walked away and my boss gave me a weird look. At the family dinner, the same joke had everyone laughing for 5 minutes. The place matters way more than the joke itself, you know? Nah, I gotta disagree here. A good joke works anywhere cause it's about the delivery and the timing, not where you tell it. If you bombed at work, maybe the joke just wasn't that great to begin with, or you read the room wrong. Family laughing doesn't mean much half the time people just laugh to be polite or cause they're used to your weird sense of humor.
