Can we talk about how cancel culture goes after nobodies but leaves big names alone?

I was scrolling through Twitter last night and saw this whole mob going after a small streamer with like 200 followers for a joke he made 5 years ago. Meanwhile, there's this big celeb who literally said something way worse last month and nobody even blinked. I work solo installing floors and I see this same thing in my world - the little guys get crushed for small mistakes but the big companies get a pass every time. It just feels like the whole system is rigged to protect people with money or fame. Like, if you're nobody with a bad take, you're done forever but if you're rich you just say sorry and keep cashing checks. Has anyone else noticed this double standard or am I just seeing things wrong?

ok so my friend sarah was literally at a party last weekend and this dude she used to date shows up. he walks right up to her and goes "remember that time you said my haircut looked stupid?" this was like four years ago, a totally offhand comment at a diner. she didn't even remember saying it until he started going on about how it ruined his confidence for months. people hold onto the weirdest stuff, i swear.

Dude that's wild lol. I had an ex bring up something I said about their jacket once, like two years after we broke up. People really sit and stew on that stuff, it's kind of funny honestly.
