Got called out for a tweet from 2012 and it actually made me think

Someone dug up an old joke I made about a band from Atlanta. It was dumb, not even that mean, but they said it showed I didn't get the scene. Instead of fighting it, I looked up the band's history. They had a rough start in the early 2000s that I never knew about. Now I try to check the full story before I post a hot take on any artist. Anyone else had a minor old post come back and make you see something new?

Yeah, it's wild how a dumb joke from forever ago can actually teach you something. I had a similar thing happen with some old forum posts about a video game series. I was just being a hater, but then I actually played the older games and got why people loved them. Makes you slow down before you type for sure.

The internet never forgets, but at least it can make you learn. My old takes were so bad they should come with a warning label. Guess we all have a digital graveyard of dumb opinions.
