Got my comment removed from a local news page and started saving screenshots of everything since
Back in July I left a comment on a city paper's Facebook post about a zoning vote in Spokane, nothing mean, just asked where the public money was going, and it was gone within an hour with no notice. I tried replying again politely and got the same thing, so I started taking a screenshot before I hit post on anything I care about. Now I keep a folder on my phone with about 40 shots, and twice I've used one to show a friend what an article actually said before it got edited or pulled. It feels a little paranoid but the receipts have already saved me two arguments. Has anyone found a better way to keep track of stuff that keeps getting scrubbed?
Screenshots are smart but a pain to dig through later. Reminds me of my uncle who tapes receipts to the fridge because he swears the bank "loses" them. Half the fridge is just grocery store slips from 2019.
