Got ratioed for calling out a bad take on Twitter and now I'm the one being cancelled
Last Tuesday I replied to some viral post about cancel culture itself being dead, and suddenly 500 people were in my mentions calling me a hypocrite for something I said 3 years ago. How do you guys separate being wrong from just being older online?

So what did you actually say three years ago that's different from who you are now? Is it something you'd still stand by, or did you just grow up?

Oh the things I said three years ago? Let's just say I was really into manifesting my "main character energy" (cringe, I know) and posted some truly embarrassing hot takes about how hustle culture was the only way to live. I would absolutely not stand by my old self's opinions on working 80 hour weeks for the "grind" - that version of me needed a nap and a reality check, not a podcast mic. Pretty sure I also claimed I'd never own a pair of sensible shoes, and now I have three pairs of the same ugly but comfortable sneakers. Growing up is basically just realizing you were wrong about everything at 25 and being okay with that, right?

Three years ago I was that person who thought owning a capsule wardrobe was some kind of moral virtue and posted a whole thread about how you only need 33 items of clothing to be a "conscious consumer." Now I have a closet full of weird thrifted sweaters and three pairs of jeans I actually rotate through. I'd still stand by the idea of not being wasteful with clothes, but I was way too preachy about it. Also I used to say I would never own a crockpot because it was for "lazy cooks" and now I literally made chili in mine last night. Being wrong is just part of the process I guess.
