Had to delete my entire Instagram after a local news reporter misquoted me in a story about town graffiti

I was at the town council meeting in Medford back in March where some kids got called out for tagging the old train bridge, and after I said they should do community service instead of getting charged, the paper ran with 'resident defends vandalism' and suddenly I had people from three towns over sending me angry messages, has anyone else gotten dragged into something they barely said?

Back in 2019 I told a reporter my NEIGHBOR was a nice guy and they twisted it to make him sound like a criminal.

Deleted my account too after a local paper butchered a quote. I told them the new food trucks were a nice change of pace for downtown, and they printed "resident says food trucks 'nice change' from local businesses." Lost a few clients over that one. Still get side eyes from the chamber of commerce.
