I finally spoke up about a local business owner's old tweets and it blew up
This happened just two weeks ago in my town. The owner of a popular coffee shop had some really ugly posts from 2012 surface, and I shared them on our community page asking for accountability. Within hours, people were calling for a boycott and the shop's social media got flooded. The owner apologized, but now the place is half empty and I feel awful for the staff. Has anyone else been in a situation where calling something out had way bigger consequences than you expected?

Honestly, what were you hoping would happen when you posted those old tweets? Did you want the owner to just say sorry, or were you expecting people to stop going there completely?

The tweets from 2018 showed the owner calling people slurs. For me, it was about making sure other customers knew who they were giving money to. I didn't expect one result, just wanted the info out there so people could decide for themselves.
