So a major retailer dropped that influencer for a 3 year old tweet and I think they went too far
I watched this whole thing unfold on Twitter back in March. A girl I followed from Ohio made a dumb joke about a TV show when she was 19, got a big brand deal at 24, and someone dug it up. The brand canceled her contract in under 48 hours. No warning, no chance to apologize. She lost an $80,000 deal over a tweet that had like 12 likes originally. I feel like we are punishing people for stuff they said as teenagers and it makes me wonder where we draw the line. Has anyone here actually had a friend or family member lose a job over old social media posts?

Yeah digging up tweets from when someone was a teenager just feels gross.

An $80,000 deal gone over 12 likes on a 3 year old tweet. Honestly I see this all the time now and it just feels like companies trying to avoid any bad press even if nobody cares.
