Warning: I lost a $500 freelance gig over a 10 year old tweet
A client found an old, dumb joke I made on Twitter back in 2014. It was a bad pun about a movie, nothing hateful, but they said it showed 'poor judgment' and pulled the contract. The project was set up, we had a start date, and then it was gone. I argued the tweet was ancient history and didn't reflect my work now, but they wouldn't budge. It makes me wonder where the line is for digging up old posts. Is anything you ever said online fair game forever? Has anyone else had a job or chance killed by something they posted a decade ago?

A 2014 pun cost you five hundred bucks?

Nah, it was a 2015 pun. The fine was for a parking ticket I got while telling it.

Wait, so a bad joke actually cost you real money?
