Warning: Paid $60 for a viral "media literacy" workshop that just blamed all cancel culture on boomers

The guy running it spent the first 20 minutes ranting about how Gen Z is too sensitive. Then we did a roleplay where we had to defend someone saying slurs from 2010. Waste of cash and time. Anyone else get burned by something that claimed to fix the cancel culture mess but just made it worse?

The whole cancel culture workshop scene is just a SYMPTOM of something bigger now. Everywhere I go, people are selling "solutions" to problems they helped create. Saw a guy at the grocery store wearing a t-shirt that said "SAY WHAT YOU WANT" while literally shouting at the cashier for asking him to wear a mask. These workshops are the same energy - they make money off pretending the other side is the PROBLEM, not the actual messy conversations we all need to have. Real media literacy costs nothing, you just need to listen instead of paying someone to tell you everyone else is wrong.

Paid $80 for a similar "cancel culture survival guide" webinar that was just 90 minutes of the host complaining about how nobody can take jokes anymore. The whole thing ended with a q&a where they told someone asking about accountability to "stop being a victim." Totally agree with you, these things are just cash grabs from people who don't actually want to solve anything.
