Was sure the diner down the street was gonna get wrecked online, but the review bomb fizzled out
Back in March, a small diner here in Boise got dragged all over social media after a server posted a clip of the owner going off about a customer's service dog. I figured that was it for them, the usual script, apology video, maybe a closed sign within a month. But the regulars showed up in force, left hundreds of honest reviews, and the whole thing just sort of died down by April. Curious if that's happening more now, where a mob gets bored before it does real damage. Has anyone seen a spot come back from that kind of pile-on lately?
How many of those hundreds of reviews were from people who actually eat there regular versus folks who just wanted to yell online? The regulars showing up makes sense, they got skin in the game. Curious if the review bomb was ever as big as it looked or if half those accounts were brand new.
