Watched a bartender in Reno get fired over a joke on his own time, and the whole bar went quiet
Two guys at the end of the bar were laughing about some old tweet of his from 2013 that a customer screenshotted and sent to his boss at the casino. He was gone by the next Friday, 6 years on the job, and nobody there even knew what the joke was. Is it fair that a company can cut someone loose over something said years before they were hired, or is that just how it works now?
What was the joke though? Six years on the job and nobody even knew what he said, so are we supposed to just accept that any old post can end your career with no chance to explain? That part is what gets me, not whether a boss can fire someone, but whether the rest of us even get to know what line we crossed.
