After 3 failed job interviews, I compared my rehearsed answers to my honest ones and the difference was massive
So I got canceled from a marketing gig back in March for a post I made that got taken out of context. Since then I've done 3 interviews where I prepared super polished responses to every question. All 3 said no. Yesterday I went into a fourth interview at a small coffee chain and just said whatever came to mind, even admitted I got fired. They called me back within 2 hours with an offer. The rehearsed stuff made me sound like everyone else. The honest stuff made me stand out. Has anyone else found that being upfront about getting canceled actually helps in interviews? I'm still shook that being real worked better than being perfect.
